Heifer International Donations

After a very busy Lent in Sunday School classes, the children met on May 5th to continue their study of God's Word and to vote on which animals to donate to Heifer International this year!  Voting Day is always a popular Sunday, with spirited debate leading to compromise and a final selection of animals.

This year was no exception.  Before class even began, the children gathered before the Heifer International display and began their discussion.  While a water buffalo emerged as an early winner, the children were still debating the merits of goats and sheep when class began.

Father Grissom and Kathy Pierce chose their "voting teams" and the discussions began.  When time was up, the teams gathered around the altar to hear both presentations.  Reaching a gracious compromise, the children elected to donate a water buffalo ($250), a llama ($120), a flock of chicks ($20), a flock of ducks ($20), a flock of geese ($20), and a flock of hope ($60).

Thanks to the entire congregation for their Lenten donations and their support of this annual outreach!
