Music at St. Alban's

Music plays a crucial role in the Anglican Church’s weekly worship life. Through the various seasons of the Christian year, the music reflects the order and glory of our worship in ways that are as different as the seasons they reflect: the piety and suffering of Lent, glorious victory in Easter, or the familiar comforts of the Christmas Incarnation.

Saint Alban's follows the traditional liturgical structure outlined in The Book Of Common Prayer. Saint Alban's frames most of our music on the hymns of the season from the 1982 Hymnal, but we also bring in timely and joyous selections from other denomination hymnals and contemporary Christian songs as well. During the 10:45am Sunday service, our music is lifted up as part of the worship.

Music is provided at special services such as Christmas Eve, Holy Week, and the Easter Season.  Our musical selections are prepared weekly and organized by our Choir Director and Organist, Deborah Silverstein.

Organ music provides the foundation for our Sunday worship; however, other instruments are welcome.  Choir practice is regularly held in the church every Wednesday evening at 7pm. Musicians and singers are welcome to join us and bring forward music to the glory of God.
