Old Testament Lesson

Leviticus 19:1-2,9-18
19:1 The LORD spoke to Moses, saying:

2 Speak to all the congregation of the people of Israeland say to them: You shall be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy.

9 When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap to the very edges of your field, or gather the gleanings of your harvest. 10 You shall not strip your vineyard bare, or gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and the alien: I am the LORD your God.

11 You shall not steal; you shall not deal falsely; and you shall not lie to one another. 12 And you shall not swear falsely by my name, profaning the name of your God: I am the LORD.

13 You shall not defraud your neighbour; you shall not steal; and you shall not keep for yourself the wages of a labourer until morning. 14 You shall not revile the deaf or put a stumbling-block before the blind; you shall fear your God: I am the LORD.

15 You shall not render an unjust judgement; you shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great: with justice you shall judge your neighbour. 16 You shall not go around as a slanderer among your people, and you shall not profit by the blood of your neighbour: I am the LORD.

17 You shall not hate in your heart anyone of your kin; you shall reprove your neighbour, or you will incur guilt yourself. 18 You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against any of your people, but you shall love your neighbour as yourself: I am the LORD.

Psalm

Psalm 145:1-9
1I will exalt you, O God my King, *
and bless your Name for ever and ever.
2Every day will I bless you *
and praise your Name for ever and ever.
3Great is the LORD and greatly to be praised; *
there is no end to his greatness.
4One generation shall praise your works to another *
and shall declare your power.
5I will ponder the glorious splendor of your majesty *
and all your marvelous works.
6They shall speak of the might of your wondrous acts, *
and I will tell of your greatness.
7They shall publish the remembrance of your great goodness; *
they shall sing of your righteous deeds.
8The LORD is gracious and full of compassion, *
slow to anger and of great kindness.
9The LORD is loving to everyone *
and his compassion is over all his works.

New Testament Lesson

Revelation 19:1,4-9
19:1 After this I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying,
''Hallelujah!
Salvation and glory and power to our God,
4 And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshipped God who is seated on the throne, saying,
''Amen. Hallelujah!''

5 And from the throne came a voice saying,
''Praise our God,
   all you his servants,
and all who fear him,
   small and great.''
6 Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty thunder-peals, crying out,
''Hallelujah!
For the Lord our God
   the Almighty reigns.
7 Let us rejoice and exult
   and give him the glory,
for the marriage of the Lamb has come,
   and his bride has made herself ready;
8 to her it has been granted to be clothed
with fine linen, bright and pure''-
for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.

9 And the angel said to me, ''Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.'' And he said to me, ''These are true words of God.''

Gospel

John 13:31-35
13:31 When he had gone out, Jesus said, ''Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in him. 32 If God has been glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself and will glorify him at once. 33 Little children, I am with you only a little longer. You will look for me; and as I said to the Jews so now I say to you, ""Where I am going, you cannot come."" 34 I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.''
